Welcome to the William P. Tatem Elementary School webpage. We are just delighted that you decided to visit! At Tatem, we believe that school is a safe-haven for students to blossom, learn, and realize their potential. As educators, we believe our foremost responsibility is to ensure that each student receives an education that will ultimately mold their future. Students should be part of an educational environment where they feel safe, learn through experience, and can explore each subject in the way they feel most comfortable.

Tatem School encourages students to be continually engaged in activities that meet their individual needs and promote their ability to be good citizens. Students participate in opportunities in which they work collaboratively, have discussions, read critically, and are involved in “active learning.” Through learning opportunities that are exciting, fun, and meaningful, students recognize that they can achieve their individual goals and meet their maximum potential as learners. They will use the knowledge gained from their learning experiences to further their understanding of the concepts outlined in the New Jersey Core Content Standards and prepare them as we progress through the 21st Century.

Tatem Elementary School recognizes that the partnership between educators and parents is invaluable. Together, we will support the educational endeavors of every child and inspire them to reach their greatest aspirations. We look forward to working together with you to build our school community and create rewarding educational experiences for our children.
